MOTORSPORTS BACKGROUND
From a young age Kyle was exposed to the fast paced, adrenaline pumping world of motorsports by his father. As a kid Kyle’s childhood dream was not an uncommon one. He wanted to be a race car driver!

Kyle’s father, Doug Tasker, a life long automotive and motorsports enthusiast and licensed mechanic spent his younger years racing Super Late Models and Drag Cars. You could say motor racing is in the Tasker blood!

In the 90’s Doug became involved with multiple race series like the IMSA Firestone Firehawk Endurance Series and the Canadian Champ Car Lights open wheel series as a scrutineer. Race tracks quickly became the family getaway destinations as we traveled around following the series. Naturally the race track was like a second home for Kyle.

In 2007 Kyle finally got behind the wheel racing go karts in an arrive and drive series in Hamilton, ON. After two seasons Kyle and his dad purchased a PTK Rotax kart from a local racer and took the leap into the 125cc Rotax Senior class racing at the Mosport International Karting Association track, located on the same grounds as the famed Mosport International Raceway now Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. After 3 seasons of racing Rotax karts Kyle and Doug clenched the 2011 Rotax Master Club championship!

Not wanting to waste this momentum, the father and son duo purchased a 2002 Nissan Sentra to compete in the 2012 CASC-OR GT Sprints and GT Challenge GT5 Championship. After three seasons of racing at the regional level, they stepped up to race in Canadian Touring Car Championship from 2015-16 and spent 2 partial season racing with the big boys.
